Privacy Policy

Last updated: 12 May 2026

Future Echo (“we”, “us”, “the app”) is operated by Richaryd R, an independent developer. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the controls you have. By using the app you agree to this policy.

1. What we collect

To run the app and your account we collect:

  • Account information: email address and password (passwords are hashed with bcrypt, never stored in plaintext).
  • Decisions you submit: the prompts, contexts, and follow-up answers you write.
  • Generated content: timelines, lens reads, Mirror summaries, Decision DNA profiles, Blueprint reports, Life Chapters, Daily Echoes, Echo Reports, and Cost of Comfort tallies the app produces from your decisions.
  • Subscription data: subscription tier, purchase receipts, and entitlement status processed through RevenueCat (see Section 3).
  • Community content: if you choose to share a decision to the Crossroads community feed, the shared text is visible to other users.
  • Push notification tokens: if you enable push notifications, we store the device token issued by Apple (APNs) or Google (FCM) to deliver alerts.
  • Analytics events: which screens you open, features you use, and actions you take — collected via PostHog (see Section 3).
  • Crash and diagnostic data: device type, OS version, app version, stack traces, and performance metrics — collected via Sentry (see Section 3).
  • Referral data: referral codes you share or redeem.

We do not collect: contacts, precise location, photos, microphone, calendar, or health data.

2. How we use it

  • To generate your timelines, lens reads, Mirror reflections, Decision DNA, Blueprints, and other app features.
  • To save your decisions so you can return to them.
  • To manage your subscription and unlock premium features.
  • To send essential service emails (account verification, password reset, Echo Reports).
  • To deliver push notifications you have opted into.
  • To diagnose crashes, monitor performance, and improve the product.
  • To understand aggregate usage patterns (we do not build advertising profiles).

We do not sell your data. We do not use your decisions to train public AI models. We do not run advertising in the app.

3. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services to operate Future Echo. Each receives only the minimum data required for its function:

  • Abacus.AI — LLM API for generating timelines and reflections. Your decision text is sent over TLS. The provider is contractually prohibited from using your prompts to train models.
  • Sentry (sentry.io) — crash reporting and performance monitoring. Receives device info, OS version, stack traces, and app version.
  • PostHog (posthog.com) — product analytics. Receives anonymized usage events (screen views, feature interactions). No personal decision content is sent.
  • RevenueCat (revenuecat.com) — subscription management. Receives your anonymous app user ID and purchase receipts from the App Store or Play Store.
  • Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — push notification delivery on Android. Receives your device push token.
  • Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — push notification delivery on iOS. Receives your device push token.
  • Expo Push Service (expo.dev) — intermediary for delivering push notifications. Receives push tokens and notification payloads (no decision content).

Your account and decision history are stored on managed cloud infrastructure (PostgreSQL on Abacus.AI hosting). All connections are TLS-encrypted in transit.

4. Data retention

We keep your account and decision history until you delete them. You can delete individual decisions in the app at any time.

To delete your full account and all associated data you have three options:

Deletion is permanent and processed within 30 days. After deletion, none of your data can be recovered.

5. Data export

You can export all of your data in JSON format at any time from the app (Profile → Export My Data). This includes your profile, all decisions, timelines, lens reads, Mirror summaries, and Decision DNA.

6. Your rights

Regardless of where you live you have the right to:

  • Access the data we hold on you.
  • Correct inaccurate data.
  • Delete your account and data.
  • Export your data in a portable format.
  • Object to processing or withdraw consent at any time.
  • Opt out of push notifications via your device settings at any time.
  • Opt out of analytics by contacting us (we will disable PostHog tracking for your account).

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected].

7. Children

Future Echo is intended for users 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard practices: TLS in transit, bcrypt-hashed passwords, scoped JWT access tokens, rate limiting, and managed cloud infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure. If we detect a breach affecting your data we will notify you within 72 hours.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes we will update the “Last updated” date and, where appropriate, notify you in-app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.

10. Contact
